Below are some detailed photos of an iconic and truly exciting piece of Star Trek history - the hero, screen used, brown velour, open chest tunic worn by veteran actor Ricardo Montalban in the second Star Trek major motion picture "The Wrath of Khan" (Paramount, 1982) to reprise his role as the genetically engineered "superman" Khan Noonien Singh, first seen in the Original Series season one episode "Space Seed" (initial airdate: Feb. 16, 1967).  This highly memorable costume is seen extensively throughout the motion picture, and will be offered for sale as Lot 1299 in Profiles In History's upcoming "Hollywood Auction 65" on October 19, 2014  - Day 3 of this massive auction which features a tremendous wealth of historic, screen used entertainment memorabilia.  The pre-auction bid estimate for the Khan tunic and its accompanying Starfleet insignia necklace and wrist communicator is $30,000 - $50,000; which ranks it as the most expensive item of Star Trek memorabilia in the sale.   A preview of the complete set of Star Trek related offerings in "Hollywood Auction 65", which includes actor Jonathan Frakes personal collection of costumes, scripts and artifacts from ST:TNG, will be presented in a forthcoming post.

All fans of Star Trek: The Original Series should consider a contribution to this very worthy cause - a newly launched Kickstarter campaign in support of the publication of the "Season Three" volume of the "These Are The Voyages: TOS" book series. The first two books received a 2014 Saturn Award and have been hailed as the finest work ever published on the making of Star Trek: The Original Series. They are a must read, containing a detailed, behind-the-scenes history of every episode in Seasons One and Two, and all together, the three volume set will contain over 2,100 pages of information!

According to the Kickstarter report on the third book:
"After the final edit this hardcover volume is 754 pages long and includes 456 photographs. However, Jacobs Brown Press has decided to delay publication until sometime in 2015 to allow more fans to discover Season One and Season Two. Author Marc Cushman wants it out sooner, and so do many who have already read Season One and Season Two. So we are launching this Kickstarter to get Season Three published this year. And you can get your copy before anyone, as well as get discounted copies of the first two volumes."

More detailed information about this fundraiser, including a brand new video from Marc Cushman, and a listing of all the contribution levels and their associated rewards, is available at this link:
